Thiago Motta Backs Teun Koopmeiners Ahead of UCL Clash
Juventus coach, Thiago Motta, has complete faith in midfielder Teun Koopmeiners’ ability to deliver a great performance when they face PSV in their UEFA Champions League (UCL) opening match tonight, Tuesday 17 September.
Last month, Koopmeiners – who was previously signed to fellow Serie A outfit, Atalanta – inked a five-year deal with Juventus, and has since played twice for the Turin-based team.
On Monday, 16 September, Motta spoke highly of the 26-year-old Dutchman in an interview with Italian reporters.
“He’s integrating very well,” remarked Motta. “He’s trying to put all his qualities at the disposal of the team. Everyone who is called up tomorrow is doing very well. We expect everything we expect from the rest of the team. If he plays tomorrow, he will perform great. Together with his teammates, he can do great things.”
Overall, the 42-year-old tactician is confident that Juve will perform well in their UCL opener at their home turf, Allianz Stadium: “I can’t wait to start the match. We want to put in a great performance to bring the result on our side.”
